Music as Medicine, Liberty as Life
The Meridian Flow sigil is more than a logo; it is a bio-energetic blueprint and a declaration of independence. Founded by Ian Franklin Wilkerson and Ben Lewis—descendants of British Isles lineage—this band was forged in late 2020 on the front lines of the struggle for medical freedom. Though both originally from Santa Rosa, California, Ian and Ben independently relocated to Meridian, Idaho in 2020—unknowingly setting the stage for their eventual meeting. It was there, outside the Department of Health and Human Services, that they met for the first time while protesting COVID-era medical mandates and advocating for the most fundamental human right: Individual Sovereignty. The convergence of place and purpose reflects a deeper duality embedded in the name itself—Meridian as both a geographic origin and an energetic axis—marking a point of alignment between path, principle, and creative force.
On May 11, 2022, Ian and Ben held their first dedicated songwriting session to explore whether they wanted to pursue a musical project together—a moment that would ultimately mark the true foundation of Meridian Flow. What followed was a consistent weekly writing practice, steadily developing a catalog of original material shaped by lived experience, reflection, and a shared commitment to authentic expression. While Ian brings a deep clinical and philosophical framework to the project, the sound and direction of Meridian Flow are forged through collaboration—Ben’s shared passions and co-writing presence are essential in shaping the band’s identity and expression. What began as an acoustic duet writing and developing original rock material—with a clear vision toward a full band sound—has since evolved into a fully realized four-piece rock band with the addition of bassist Jeff Erekson and drummer Dale Schiro, whose presence brought not just experience and sonic depth, but a grounded rhythmic force that completed the band’s chemistry and fully realized the vision.
We are not a “new age” act. We are a rock band—driven by the raw force of 90s grunge, the weight of classic rock like Led Zeppelin, and the cerebral, polyrhythmic intensity of progressive bands such as Tool, Porcupine Tree, and King Crimson. Our music is the Oran Mór—the Great Song of our ancestors—re-amplified through distortion, rhythm, and voltage for a modern era of resistance and awakening.
Meridian Flow released their debut acoustic EP, Refocus, as a duet on June 18, 2024, followed by their first full-band single, Crapshoot, on October 31, 2025. In early 2026, the band recorded four new songs as a full unit and is continuing that momentum with additional recording sessions scheduled for late April. Select singles from these sessions will be released ahead of their debut full-length album, Siren Sound, as the band continues building toward a complete body of work that reflects both their sonic evolution and foundational ethos.
A Deeper Dive into Our Sigil
The Crown of the Sovereign
The circular crest at the summit is an ancient Gaelic Caim—a sanctuary circle. In our lineage, this represents the Sovereign Individual: the idea that each human being is the ultimate authority over their own body, mind, and spirit.
The seven radiating points are rays of autonomy and illumination. Authority does not descend from institutions—it emerges from within. This crest is a boundary. A perimeter. A “no-fly zone” around the human spirit.
The 12 Pathways of Resonance (Meridian & Orgone)
The twelve feathered extensions form a bridge between ancient energetic systems and modern biophysics.
They parallel the 12 primary meridians described in Eastern traditions—pathways through which life energy flows—but are understood here through the lens of Reichian bioenergetics and Orgone theory.

Drawing on Ian Franklin Wilkerson’s 18 years of clinical practice as a Board-Certified Music Therapist, combined with his lineage as a third-generation Reichian breathwork practitioner, this is not metaphor—it is applied physiology through sound. While this framework informs the foundation, it is through the collective force of the band that these ideas are translated into a lived, sonic experience.

The Spear of Biophysical Liberation
The central “M” is a lightning rod.
A vertical axis.
A channel.
A force moving from above to below.
Its downward taper forms a spear—a deliberate, grounded point.
This is where philosophy becomes action.
Wilhelm Reich identified emotional and physical armoring as the result of suppression—social, cultural, and political. That same armoring is what our music confronts.
